Customer Advisor - Medical Risk Assessment Team

Location: Bournemouth

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Mon - Fri, shifts rostered between 8am & 9pm with some weekend work

Salary: £17,000 - £18,000 (Depending on experience)

Important Information:  Start date for this role is on 4th February 2018. Part-time applicants will also be considered however you must be able to attend the training program, where you are required to attend full time, Mon-Fri 9-5, for a period of approximately 3-4 weeks.

We are seeking reliable and empathetic individuals to join our award winning customer service teams. The position is within our Medical Risk Assessment Department where you will be assisting customers through the process of declaring any pre-existing medical conditions, ensuring they fully understand any restrictions on their travel insurance policy, whilst ensuring delivery of a first class customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive in-coming calls from customers wishing to update their travel insurance medical records
  • Input data to our specialist system
  • Ensure all relevant information is captured and updated on the system for each customer
  • Ensure customers who aren't covered are given a good explanation as to why and providing a proactive solution where able to
  • Help make the process as simple and hassle free as possible for customers
  • Attempt to resolve disputes with customers. Proactively present solutions to problems and ensure the principles of Treating Customers Fairly are considered
  • Liaise with 3rd parties in relation to resolving queries quickly

Experience & Skills:

  • An ability to stay calm, confident and focussed while handling incoming calls
  • The ability to reassure others and display high levels of empathy
  • A passion for helping other people who are distressed or anxious
  • Previous experience of working in the insurance industry
  • Competent at using complex computer systems (training for our system fully provided)
  • Able to understand and process information quickly
  • High levels of attention to detail
